INFLATABLE HIGH JUMP PITS

• Inflatable high jump pit includes base and padded mesh cover
• Several different sizes for two styles
• Customer provided sample, wanted new design with sharper corners and less bloating/rounding of
   current pit styles
• Took apart least amount of seams as possible from sample to understand interior components
• Inner baffles and strap assemblies create the sharp appearance while allowing air flow
• Mesh vent in back allows air to escape and aids in deflation
• Second style created to simplify components and lower costs
• Worked with printing source to develop silk screen logos
• Developed operations based around bulk and weight of material
• Used double needle for durability
• Time studies completed for each stage of production, based on sew rate and handling
• Reduced waste by using scrap material for certain components as well as pattern design
• Added pen lines to patterns and created drawings to aid operators and lower labor times
• Highly labor-intensive project, worked carefully to predict lead times and shipping dates
• Customer received state-wide recognition and supplies to many schools
